Events

The Friends are enthusiastic about the Charlotte Harbor Aquatic Preserve and State Park and we want you to come visit! We sponsor paddling and wading trips annually during the National Estuary Days celebration in partnership with the Charlotte Harbor National Estuary Program (CHNEP). The Friends also provide opportunities to take guided hikes and if you would like to explore on your own, please visit the Dodson Trail at 12301 Burnt Store Road, Punta Gorda, FL 33955.

Friends members and volunteers provide invaluable assistance and greatly benefit the Preserves through trail construction and maintenance, exotic plant removal, and Coastal Cleanups. The Friends represent the Preserve at local festivals, which this year included two new events, the Southwest Florida Nautical Flea Market and Boat Show and the Calusa Blueway Paddling Festival.
